Introduction to Preschool

Welcome to our two year old room! We consider this room an “Introduction to Preschool.” We believe that a child is never too young to start learning and the adventure begins here.

Each week your child will be introduced to a variety of age appropriate themes and activities. Our teacher’s will incorporate the weekly theme into their daily lesson plans. The theme is than carried out through the day.

  • Learn to count 1 – 10
  • Learn to sing the “ABC” song
  • Learn to sing “the days of the week” song
  • Recognize and identify the 5 basic shapes
  • Recognize and identify the 8 basic colors
  • Learn about the four seasons and the change in weather
  • Safety Tips – stop, drop & roll, look both ways, etc.
  • Good manners – please, thank you, excuse me, etc.
  • Learning responsibility – taking turns, sharing, etc.
  • Learning about holidays and other special days
  • Introduction to jumbo pencils and crayons

Some of the unit topics that will be discussed over the course of the year are:
*Farm Animals                   *Under the Sea                      *Wild Life Animals      *Body Parts

As you can see, the two year olds stay very busy. There are a number of things to accomplish during the school year and we have a great time trying to reach that goal. We feel sure your child will enjoy their time with us; however, if you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to let us know.
